S. Lucas was one of the first painting contractors to become registered by the British Standards Institution to the original BS 5750 Standard. Quality management is now part of our culture and today we operate an effective quality management system in compliance with and certified by the BSI to ISO 9001.
We have invested in a new 3D design studio and a new Tech Lab to raise even further the range and quality of services we now provide. We use state-of-the-art colour metric and gloss measuring equipment that operate within finite tolerances to meet bespoke paint and sealant specifications. Laboratory tests include scrub resistance, PTV (pendulum test value) slip resistance, colour testing and replication, gloss level tests, dry film thickness, coating flexibilities, hydraulic adhesion, lead content testing and Class “O” flame resistance. We also carry out PTV tests on site.
We provide a full colour and finish replication service for a broad range of pre-finished surfaces that typically become damaged on site during the construction phase, and require re-finishing to an exact match. Items such as curtain walling, cladding, lift doors, powder-coated partitions, door sets and balustrades are among a long list of components that often suffer damage and can be painted in our own spray booth
