S. Lucas - Spray and Painting Contractors

Environmental

S. Lucas Group has been awarded and maintains its ISO 140001 certificate of top environmental performance after developing detailed environmental management systems that are rigorously and regularly appraised by external assessors.

ISO 140001 is the internationally accepted standard that sets out a blueprint for developing an effective environmental management system. In order to achieve this standard, we review and update all our policies and practices throughout the business and across all the sites at which we operate.

Our headquarters systems are put to the test, managers challenged, waste policies examined and site practices reviewed. Full training is given to our managers to ensure that the highest environmental standards and practices are maintained.

We are an innovative company pioneering new methods in painting technology and spray application techniques.
Over the years the company has been at the forefront of the move to use water-based paints, changing our clients' perceptions of them, well before the introduction of the European Union directive regarding the use of low VOC paint

products. This policy has since been adopted by all major industry clients and is a key factor for all architects, designers and specifiers when complying with the current CDM Regulations.

We have built our own logistics centre to improve transport efficiencies and cut environmental impacts, and developed roller and brush washout stations that turn waste paint into an inert “biscuit” for safe disposal. Our sister company, Lucas Fitout, is accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council, to supply FSC-stamped wood products as part of a legitimate chain of custody.
